Shell-and-Tube Heat Exchanger 1.1
Publisher's Description:Shell-and-Tube Heat Exchanger - Shell-and-Tube Heat Exchanger - is a user friendly program which for a given heat exchanger initial conditions and geometry predicts outlet temperatures of both shell-side and tube-side fluids, heat exchanged, pressure drop on the tube sides and fluid velocity in the inlet/outlet nozzles. For a given input and output conditions the program can estimate preliminary heat exchanger design parameters. Program assumes: heat exchange between counterflow fluids shell insulation heat transfer with ambient air. shell side fluid heating is possible evaporation and condensation are not considered

Latest User Reviews:Not a Predictor of PerformanceMy goal was to input geometry and other known conditions for a theoretical HX and receive the predicted performance. This program does not predict performance from geometry, but rather requires you to enter the "answer" (i.e., heat transfer in W/(K·m²) or Btu/(hr·F·ft²)). It then calculates tube surface area and solves for the LMTD. IMHO, this is better done in a spreadsheet. Social bookmarks: RSS:
